    Default How much to reset tappets at a garage?

    if anyone has any idea

    how long does this take to do, thinking of labour costs?

    yeah its not something thats v.bad for the engine or anything, i'd just like them reset for personal satisfaction and to get rid of the annoying noise

    u can do it urself its fairly easy, so i wud think a garage wudnt charge ne more than 30 and thats too high if u ask me

    doesnt take very long. probly about 10/15 mins? so any more than 20 would be daylight robbery

    Did my valve clearances myself: not too difficult at all. All you need to do it is a set of feeler blades, the right size spanner to loosen the locknut and a flat bladed screwdriver to adjust the clearance on the rocker arm. Make sure the engine is COLD though.

    not sure, spoke to mechanic at local garage and he thinks an hour and a halfs work on my car, he must know if they are hydrolic or not because he came and had a look at the engine

    wow!! well surprised,thought it wud of been alot mor than this.
    so hopefully i cud get it done even cheaper ,m8s with a lad frm kwik-fit,hes servicing my car hopefully this week for 20 if i get the parts, and coz i work in car shop i can get all parts at cost...woo hoo...and hes gunna stamp it. lol

    you dont need parts for doing tappets lol just a flat head screwie and a 13mm spanner! and a feeler blades that go in 0.000mm's! ROFL and takes about half hour tops to do and remember put it in 4th take spark plugs out to its easier to move the car for valve clearences

    I pay 35 for diagnostic tune n timing when needed from mobile tuner bloke, any1 local to wolverhampton give him a tinkle i use him all the time no probs on all of our cars.
